Dance Classes

A dance class

This form of dance is hugely enjoyable. Classes are held in Bath and Bradford-on Avon

In Bath: Three Classes are held each month for all levels of ability on Wednesdays at 7:45pm in the Hall of the Bath Central Unitied Reform Church in Grove Street, first left over Pultney Bridge or in the Milsom Room of the Manvers Street Baptist Church (next to the police station) cheapest nearby parking Southgate shopping centre.

A detailed schedule for 2012 showing dates and locations can be accessed here

In Bradford-on-Avon: Classes for all levels of ability on the second and fourth Mondays of the month in the United Church Hall, Trowbridge Road. Anyone wishing to join the Bradford class should phone Juliet on 01225 863228.

You do not need a costume or a partner to join in but you should wear comfortable shoes

We make a charge of £4 for each class to cover the cost of hiring the hall etc

Bath is an increasingly popular location for film and TV projects. Dancing skills in costume increase your chances of being involved in these productions. For those interested in entering this world learning dances of the period gives you an advantage

While you don't need a costume to take part in classes, if you want to represent the Jane Austen Dancers at events you will need an authentic costume. Please discuss this with one of the committee before making or buying, so that we can give you as much help and advice as possible

You can download PDF copies of our new starters information sheet for your own use
